The garden at Stonelands is magical, with huge mature trees and a wooded area behind the house. Inside, the grand hallway displays old photographs and leads up to a first floor landing with a beautiful Victorian circular roof lantern. There’s a wonderfully calming feel to the place, and the house has so much history. Linda and Roger were very welcoming and knew a lot about the house and local area. They’re doing a great job preserving it as a b&b and sharing its story.

I’ve stayed here five times now, nearly every month since January, and I’ll keep coming back. The people who run the b&b are welcoming, friendly and always helpful. The rooms are clean, and the beds are so comfortable. I’ve had the best night’s sleep in ages. You won’t regret staying here.

The owners were so welcoming and friendly, and the house itself is beautiful, with spacious rooms. We didn’t mind that breakfast wasn’t cooked, though a few savoury choices like cheese and ham would have been a nice addition.

The breakfast was really good, especially the fresh fruit salad, and there was plenty of it. We had the superior double room, which was very comfortable and had a huge en suite bathroom. The owners were lovely, friendly and very helpful. Derek and Shirley

Our host Liz was so friendly that she made our island visit especially enjoyable. The house is an interesting old place, and our room was lovely and comfortable. Breakfast was plentiful too. On our last morning we spotted a red squirrel running around the garden, which was the icing on the cake.
