The apartment was clean, a decent size and in a great location, with comfortable beds. The host’s instructions and the WiFi were good too. But rain woke us at 5am inside the apartment, running down the walls, over the ceiling, onto the electrics and across the sofa bed and our suitcase of clean clothes. We contacted them and got an immediate reply, and they refunded us in full. The person living upstairs confirmed there had been ceiling stains before, so this seemed to have happened previously. We had to find somewhere else and move apartments with no notice, during the summer holidays when there wasn’t much choice. Check out at wightholiday was 10am and check in elsewhere wasn’t until 2pm, so we had to throw away about £50 worth of refrigerated food for our two days there. With two small children, it was incredibly frustrating. They refunded us, but the whole thing still cost us. The fridge was too small for a family of four staying three nights. The drains were blocked and took ages to clear. Parking was a problem too, since the spaces outside are restricted and need a permit, so we had to park a short walk away. I couldn’t leave a review on Booking.com even though we stayed one of the three nights we’d booked. They told Booking.com we never arrived, which meant I couldn’t post this there.
