Port Gaverne Hotel

The downstairs restaurant served absolutely beautiful food, and the setting was very nice. The rooms are stunning, with careful attention to detail and refurbishment finished to a very high standard. The friendly, family-welcoming staff made a real difference. When we returned for the second time, everything was physically the same, which was good: the standards and the warm attitude from the staff were just as high as before. A fantastic experience, and somewhere we’d happily return to.

We were in charming room 5, with lovely quality linen and towels. The hotel had some thoughtful extra touches for Valentine’s Day: petals on the bed, a bottle of fizz and a love-themed dinner menu. Trixie (or a similar name) was especially sweet and caring, and the staff were very friendly. It’s a lovely, small hotel and pub, full of charm, with fabulous food. Dry robes in the wardrobe too. A real gem of a find.

The room was outstandingly clean, and the tea tray was well stocked. There were dry and wet robes for the beach, which was a lovely touch. Breakfast was really filling, with plenty of juices too.

The dinner, bed and breakfast deal was incredible value. We enjoyed the food, the specials and the local beers on tap. We also had a very warm welcome after booking at the last minute because our plans changed. The room was spacious and clean, with everything we needed, including coffee, local shampoo and waterproofs for a quick trip out in the rain. Our dog had his own bowl, snacks, treats and a ball waiting for him. Extremely dog friendly.
