That drive down to drop off our bags was quite an eye-opener for a yank. We stayed for two nights and had a nice little balcony, though it was too cold to use. The lovely surprise was that a full Cornish breakfast was included! If you're a Doc Martin fan, you can't go wrong.

We hadn't booked, and there was a big party upstairs, but the staff were still really accommodating. The gent behind the bar was especially helpful in finding a table for four. We'd come in for food and drinks after the Mote recommended the place. The drinks were lovely, and the meals we chose were very nicely presented and tasty. Definitely give it a try.

The peas were the best I’ve had anywhere in England, and I’ve travelled around. Their fish and chips would make my all-time top three, too. Great menu, service and seating. Such an amazing place to eat.

The chef came out to ask how the food was, and the service from everyone was polite and thoughtful. We had fish and chips in the pub, and they were amazing, the best we've had. You'd never guess they were gluten-free. The chef is coeliac and understands cross-contamination problems. The IPA was cold as well. We'll absolutely eat here again when we're in the area. If you're visiting Port Isaac and need gluten-free food, stop in, you won't be disappointed.

Rooms were very clean and the shower was lovely. Breakfast was really good, especially the Cornish breakfast. The staff were super friendly and helpful, nothing was too much trouble. I'd definitely stay again if I'm in the area, just for the friendly staff.
