On the second day my charger and phone cable broke, and Nuria kindly took my phone and charged it so I could take some very important calls. She really went above and beyond. I'd checked in late, and Sonia was lovely, getting me sorted and pointing out places to eat locally. The next morning Jenae quickly got me water for my bottle and suggested the omelette, which was exquisite.

The staff were friendly and the hotel was lovely, but the bed was far too firm, like sleeping on bricks. The pillows were just as hard, so I ended up using my clothes to make a softer one. There weren't any alternative pillows in the room like there are at other hotels around this price, and extra pillows would help. I didn't sleep well because of it.

We got a room high up and had excellent views at any time of day, including a lovely sunrise. The rooms are spacious, clean and nicely decorated in a contemporary style, and the staff were capable, friendly and always helpful. Breakfast was good too. It's a two-minute walk to the tram, then about twenty minutes to Manchester centre, so it's a great choice for a visit and costs about half as much as comparable places in Central Manchester.

I stay in hotels often and was very happy here. Breakfast had much better options than similar hotels. The lifts are pretty slow, so expect a wait at busy times, but I'd certainly stay again.

On the 16th floor I had a big room and great views, though there was hardly any clothing storage: only a tiny hanging space and no drawers, which isn't great for a longer stay. The location is perfect for transport, with plenty of places to eat right nearby. I haven't tried the restaurant since Marco Pierre White left, but honestly it can't be any worse. I was embarrassed for him just eating the slop. Good riddence.
