I felt a bit vulnerable walking alone from the tram stop after dark, which is why I’ve taken off a star. The room itself was warm and clean, with a temperature you could adjust, and the bed was comfortable.

The staff were friendly and helpful, and our room was clean and cosy. We booked because we were going to a nearby show, and the location was ideal. It’s also a lovely spot for a walk by the Quay, with a nice view over the water, and handy for shopping or seeing a show.

Service and breakfast were good, and it’s a great location. There’s quality here, though I wish we’d picked a hotel with a higher rating. The rooms felt tight, and I could hear the person next door snoring through the connecting door, as well as talking on the phone earlier.

Katarina at reception was amazing. She offered me water, then joked that what I needed was a strong coffee, and brought me an espresso from the restaurant. I was pretty anxious by then, shaking and stuttering, but she helped me calm down. I’d arrived to check in after leaving my booking details at the office, thinking my name would be enough. Then I found out my company had booked me under a different name. We have hundreds of staff, so I had no idea which name they’d used. I tried calling the office, but no one picked up at first. Once I’d calmed down, I called again, they finally answered, and everything got sorted.
