The Old Rectory B&B

We were welcomed by Ruwani, Simon, and their two lovely labradors. The room and bathroom were spacious, so we felt at ease straight away. It’s in a quiet part of Salisbury, while still being an easy walk from the amenities. Breakfast was generous and expertly cooked, enough to leave you skipping lunch. We’d happily stay again.

Breakfast was the highlight for me. There were eight fresh fruit choices, good cereals, and several hot options. I went for pancakes, while my dad had a filled omelet each day. You could tell guests were truly welcome, and I only wish we’d stayed longer. The guesthouse is close to the centre, but far enough away for a good night’s sleep. Excellent restaurants are about a 6-7 minute walk away. Our room was lovely, beautifully furnished, and super clean, with a great comfortable bed. The bathroom was very spacious and modern, and there was plenty of shampoo and shower gel.

Ruwani made us feel very welcome and put on a wonderful breakfast, with lots of fresh fruit and a hearty cooked option. We were also very comfortable during our stay, as care had been taken to follow the Covid guidelines. The Old Rectory is quiet but within easy walking distance of central Salisbury. Our room was spacious, airy, and beautifully furnished, and the bathroom had lots of room, towels, and toiletries. A great find, thoroughly recommended.

There’s no ground floor accommodation, so expect to use the stairs. There’s no shared sitting room either, though that didn’t bother us. We could park in the owners’ driveway, but otherwise you’ll need to find on-street parking. The house is a few yards from a nice park and about ten minutes on foot from shops and restaurants. Rumani was charming and professional, and our room, Annette’s, was lovely with a huge modern bathroom. Breakfasts were excellent. If we come back to Salisbury, we’d certainly want to stay here again.
