China Fleet Country Club

The facilities were clean and tidy, but the changing rooms felt awkward. Lockers sit above the benches, so people were reaching for clothes while others were changing; there were few cubicles, no hooks over the benches, and the showers were open, with no privacy. We went for our gifted two-hour spa session at 10am, and it filled up quickly. There’s one jacuzzi for four, a few heated beds, and a lovely foot spa. The rest is saunas, which is fine if that’s what you like. We’d finished in an hour, including a swim. We didn’t stay for food: the Cabin cafe only served meals, so we went elsewhere for coffee and cake.

We’ve now got memberships for the facilities since moving to just 10 minutes away. I’d love to use them with our younger children, though, and wish there were a few more options for babies and toddlers. We’ve been visiting China Fleet for years, even when we didn’t live in the southwest. The apartments and grounds are gorgeous.

The breakfast team coped admirably when all of us arrived at once on Sunday, and the catering team kept the food, drinks, and service excellent throughout. One small thing: there wasn’t enough toast with the pâté to finish the delicious serving. Huge thanks to every department for making my son’s wedding so memorable from beginning to end. Julie supported James and Leanne through the planning and on the day, and Kevin looked after us so well that nothing seemed too much trouble. It was a very special day, and I’d certainly recommend China Fleet to anyone booking a wedding. Many thanks.

I was sceptical at first, since venues can look wonderful and then disappoint, but China Fleet really delivered. They made my daughter’s birthday feel special and looked after us so well, almost as if we were the only customers there. Every staff member I’ve met has been lovely, and there’s plenty to do at the club. I can’t thank them enough.
