The host was lovely and welcoming, and made the whole stay easy. Everything was spotless throughout, and I couldn't find a single fault. The jacuzzi bath was fantastic for unwinding. I'd happily stay again and recommend it to anyone after a relaxing, high-quality break.

Breakfast was delicious and offered plenty of choice, and we'll definitely try to return. For our special occasion, we booked the Cairo room at St Hildas. It didn't disappoint: the hotel's atmosphere made us feel at home straight away, and the room felt luxurious, with lots of thoughtful little touches.

We had a wonderfully restful night's sleep in the Cairo room at St Hilda's. The bed was extremely comfortable, the room was spotless, and the attention to detail is lovely. The photos don't really do it justice. The person who checked us in was very friendly, made us feel at ease, and was happy to answer our questions. We found the detailed booklet with local places to eat and drink, taxis, and takeaways really useful. Breakfast was a great continental spread with lots of options. You can fill a tray and take it to your room if you like. We're back home now and will definitely return. Thanks for such a lovely night away.

We loved the Paris-themed room and its huge jacuzzi. The room price included continental breakfast, and the staff were very friendly. I'll definitely book again, perhaps in a different themed room next time.

The Reykjavik room had a comfortable bed and sofa, plus an enormous bathroom with a very large whirlpool bath. I believe the room was converted from a barn. This is a luxury B&B in a lovely rural setting near the North Yorkshire coast. Breakfast is a continental buffet, served in the main house or at outdoor tables in good weather. There are two pubs and a fish and chips shop within walking distance for dinner, while picturesque bays are a short drive or walk away, the nearest around 1.5 miles. A couple of small snags: our room had no shaving socket or light above the mirrors, so I couldn't see well while shaving. Fruit at breakfast could also be covered to keep wasps off. If you're travelling a long way or working on arrival day, the afternoon check-in takes some planning. Those are minor issues, though. It's not cheap, but you get more for your money than in nearby Whitby, so I found it good value. Recommended.
