There’s loads of tucked-away outdoor space at the back, and they also have separate cabins for overnight stays. It’s a friendly place with Sky Sports, a pool table, and food on offer, though I haven’t tried the food yet. The outdoor area is overlooked by the flats, so taller hedges would give more privacy. In the toilets, there’s just one hand towel, which isn’t good; paper towels or a dryer would be better. There’s no toilet roll holder, and the taps are awkward to use. One tap was so difficult that I got soaked.

The Sunday roast was really tasty and came in a good-sized portion. The service was friendly and accommodating. I’d definitely recommend going with the family.

Will really stood out for us. He was warm, polite, and friendly, but never intrusive, and his attention to detail and work ethic were brilliant. He never stopped, bless him. I’d have him on my payroll in a heartbeat. The staff wear smart casual uniforms, which makes them easy to spot if you need anything. We had a lovely Sunday lunch, and the food and service were both good. There was a nice amount of time between courses without a long wait, especially considering the place was fully booked and very busy. All the staff were polite, warm, and friendly. Well done, The Kings Head. We’ll be back and will recommend you to everyone. Tina & Andrew Mcgeachy

The pub itself is good, but the rooms leave a lot to be desired. We paid £75 a night, which felt well overpriced. After a late night out, I sat on the bed to get ready for sleep and sank right down to the floor because the base was broken. The pub was shut, so we couldn’t tell the owners. We left early the next morning, when the place was still dark, and couldn’t speak to the landlord then either.

I moved to Sandy two months ago, and this is my local pub. The staff are very friendly, and the Sunday dinner is great.
