It's a working harbour, so there's plenty going on, with pleasure boats sharing the facilities too. The views are lovely, and coffee shops, cafes and places for fish and chips are all close by. You can easily get to the outstanding beaches from here, and Glen beach is a lovely little cove that's dog friendly. The harbour itself is one of my favourite places to relax. You can park right there, and the pay and display rate is reasonable, but do pay or you'll get a ticket. It can be a bit chaotic, though manageable and worth the effort. The parking area is level and easy for buggies and wheelchairs. Toilets nearby are clean and free. There's a large deck beside it with a safe, purpose-built crabbing area. Look for the coal ship to find it.

I love Saundersfoot, and the harbour is really nice. Since it's still a working harbour, you should expect some smells. The town has put a lot of effort into food and shops around the harbour, along with an area for displays and shows. When I was there, a street food circus and a vintage motorcycle rally were on.

Saundersfoot looks marvellous in the light just after sunrise. This might be the best spot in Wales to watch the sun come up, and I'd say it's worth getting up early, even if you're driving two hours to be there. Truly beautiful.

The harbour and dog-free beach are great for the kids. It's a lovely place to sit and watch the boats come and go, with plenty of shops, cafes, restaurants and pubs nearby.
