The staff are what make The Central Hotel special: they’re helpful, friendly, professional, and welcoming from the moment you arrive. We also enjoyed relaxing in the bar after a day out. The location is excellent for everything Scarborough has to offer, and being able to pre-book parking for a small extra cost made things easy and stress-free. Our room was spacious, clean, and comfortable. We’ve just returned for our third stay, and it certainly won’t be our last. Already looking forward to the next visit.

For the price, we got a huge room with a separate seating area and lovely views of the coast. It was clean and very nicely decorated. The rest of this beautiful traditional hotel felt welcoming too, with friendly service from the reception and bar staff. The central location is perfect.

Our room was clean and had everything we needed, and the staff were friendly and helpful. The building is lovely, set on historic Scarborough Crescent, and the location is great. Excellent value too. Highly recommended.

The building is lovely, the location is great, and the communal areas are nice, but our room was a letdown. The mattress was awful and should have been replaced long ago. The room and bathroom were outdated, though passable. There was also a hole in the bathroom floor beside the sink where the floorboards had collapsed; that area sank when stepped on. It looked like it had been there for a while and is completely unacceptable, as well as a serious trip hazard. The floor was quite grubby too.

The hotel has a lot of history and some lovely architecture in the rooms. Reception, the bar lounge, and bedrooms are lavishly furnished, and the staff were wonderfully friendly. I’ve tried several other hotels in Scarborough, but this one beats them all. I’ll be booking again very soon.
