Kenways Guest House

I was grateful for the parking permit and had no trouble finding a space. Suzie and Tim made me feel welcome while respecting my privacy and space. The breakfast was fresh and good quality. The location was quiet and the room was spotless, bright and airy. Single rooms are often tiny and dingy, tucked in an attic or basement, but this one was spacious and had everything I needed. I’d definitely recommend it and come back.

We’ve just got back from our second stay, and Caleb made sure to fill up on breakfast again, the hungry little so-and-so! At least I got extra black pudding and hash browns. Our first visit was in October 2025 and was spot on, from the lovely couple and accommodation to the superb breakfast. We returned over the bank holiday weekend. I’d been in hospital the Wednesday before for a kidney biopsy, so staying at Kenways in Scarborough was a perfect way to take it easy. We’d planned a walk at Goathland, but the weather was dire, and it was just as bad for the bike racing at Olivers Mount. Still, it was good to get away. Hopefully we’ll be back. Cheers!

There are plenty of good places to eat nearby, and The Albert pub is just around the corner. It’s an easy enough stroll into the centre and down to the seafront. Kenway Guest House is also right near Peasholme Park and ideally placed for anyone going to the Scarborough Open Air Theatre. Tim and Suzie are wonderful hosts who do everything they can to make sure you enjoy your stay. The rooms are comfortable and clean, with lots of tea and coffee options, and the breakfast is superb.

We could walk to all our favourite spots from this central but quiet place, just above Peasholm Park. Tim and Suzie made sure we had what we needed throughout our fantastic couple of days, and even found sun tan cream when my head had gone bright red! The rooms were spotless, the showers hot and clean, and the beds crisp and comfortable. Breakfast was awesome. I loved the full English, and they catered for whatever people asked for, including smoked salmon and scrambled egg on a bagel. Exactly the break we needed and more. Thanks, Tim and Suzie.
