Park Manor Hotel

Peasholm Park is right opposite, and it's less than a ten-minute stroll to the beach. I also made use of the leisure facilities several times, a nice extra. My room was small but spotless and had everything I needed as a solo holidaymaker. I felt welcome from the moment I arrived, and the friendly, attentive staff kept that up throughout my stay.

It's in a quiet spot, a short walk from Peasholm Park and a little farther to the beach. Staff were friendly and helpful, and I had a lovely, clean and comfortable single room after a warm welcome. The pool is small but spotless, and the jacuzzi was lovely. The steam room was closed for repairs, but they let me know before I arrived. What a gem of a hotel!

We enjoyed our stay and the atmosphere from the mid-century decor, which they should keep. The dessert was lovely, and lounge service was very attentive. Staff are the hotel's biggest asset: friendly, helpful, and smart. The room was adequate for the exceptional value. The food needs attention, especially with service ending at 7pm. The menu should feature local traditional favourites that suit the cooks' capabilities. My risotto was like wallpaper paste, and the chicken breast was gargantuan and almost off-putting. There were eight of us and few favourable comments. I gave five stars for value for money.

The beds were comfortable, and both the evening meal and breakfast were excellent. There was a very good choice at dinner, and breakfast was cooked to order. The hotel was nice and clean, with extremely friendly, helpful staff. We had stayed here a long time ago, so when we planned three nights in Scarborough, we came back to Park Manor. Highly recommend it, and we'll return later this year.
