We stayed on the second floor, and there were lots of steps with no lift to our room. There is a lift for rooms on the other side of the hotel, so mention mobility needs to the staff. The rooms are modern and recently refurbished, with lovely quality bedding and towels. Breakfast was well cooked and good quality. It’s near the seafront, around a 10-15 minute walk into the town centre, and there’s a free car park. We’d stay again.

The sea views were lovely, and the big suite worked really well for a family, with two bedrooms and bunk beds for the kids. The hotel was smart, clean and freshly decorated, with a friendly feel, a great location and an excellent breakfast.

We chose this place because it welcomes dogs when arranged in advance, and that worked out great. The room was lovely, the view was wonderful, and the staff were so friendly and helpful. We had a brilliant stay and would definitely recommend it.

We made the most of the hotel bar each evening, enjoying its relaxed feel and the games there, including dominoes, cards and checkers. The shared areas were well looked after and felt homely. Our room was spacious and had a fresh look. The shower worked well, though I found it a little small; my partner had no problem with it. We paid extra for a sea view and were glad we did, it was a real highlight. The staff were incredibly friendly and keen to help with anything. We had a great weekend at the Clarence Gardens Hotel and wished we could stay longer. We’d consider coming back next time we’re in Scarbados.

Breakfast was bang on, and the bar room is a real highlight, with views across the castle and bay. The hotel has been refurbished to a very high standard. We usually stay at the Crown Spa, but this is now our first choice in Scarborough. Go ahead and book.
