The Glass House - Scarborough

We didn't want to leave Hampton House. We had to book it on the spot while we were in Scarborough after another hotel messed us about. We were there for our first anniversary, so that had been a disappointing start, but we're glad it happened because otherwise we wouldn't have found this place. The thought put into it is clear, and it's so beautiful. There's a large bedroom for couples and a big room for children, plus a travel cot stored in its bag when we arrived. We didn't need it, but thought that was a nice touch. We loved our stay and would recommend it to everyone. I can't thank them enough for making our anniversary special. We'll definitely come back.

The place was reasonably spacious and generally clean, with soft towels and linen sheets. But there was a shortage of sockets for charging phones and other devices, and it felt cold, with dampness in every room. The kitchen and bathroom had black mould, apparently from poor ventilation. It's in a busy residential area, so parking is limited.

I only hesitate to return because of the price. We paid a lot for three nights, though the place felt like a luxury hotel. It's on a quiet street within walking distance of Scarborough, and we stayed there last August. My only complaint was that the bedrooms had no curtains, so little ones might not get much sleep.

A great weekend stay. The apartment was spacious, clean and nicely located, and the price was very good. The bathroom was great too.
