We went to a performance at the Spa Theatre and found The Waves to be ideally located. It was our first visit, two nights in mid April, and we had a fantastic time. Our room was comfortable and had everything we needed. Downstairs there’s a great lounge with a jukebox, books, and Local Guides, and breakfast was lovely, good quality, and offered plenty of choice. Parking permits were provided. Kerrie and James looked after us so well and couldn’t do enough to help. Thanks so much, we hope to be back very soon. Katy and Phil.

James was very welcoming. I let him know we’d arrive early and asked about getting an on-street parking pass so we could head into Scarborough until the room was ready. When we got there around 12.15, he’d already prepared it, leaving us the rest of the day to do as we pleased. The rooms are very clean, and the beds exceptionally comfortable. Breakfast was excellent, with a good choice on the pre-order form you fill out the night before and return by 8pm. It’s a great idea, and the breakfast staff were very good. The house is decorated to a high standard, keeping some period features alongside a modern touch. The spa funicular railway is a couple of minutes’ walk away and takes you down to the seafront for a reasonable £2.50 return. A very nice stay, excellent value, and well worth a visit.

The bath was lovely, the room spacious, and the TV had great channels. I also enjoyed the scrambled eggs and selection of fruit. The woman doing the waiting and cleaning was literally run off her feet, so I couldn’t fault her efforts. The open-top bus is good for disabled visitors in Scarborough. Just hop on and get a cheap return pass for unlimited travel up and down, and the trolley bus saves you walking down the steep hill.

Chris and Emma were so welcoming when we arrived for our two nights, and even offered us cake. I forgot to ask who made the gorgeous date and walnut cake! The house was spotless, and our spacious room had a very comfortable bed, lovely linen, and fluffy towels. I loved the bathroom, with its shower and freestanding Victorian-style bath. Breakfast was excellent in a nice dining room with unusual lighting. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this place to friends and family, and we’ll definitely stay again next time we’re in Scarborough.

Chris and Emma were pleasant, welcoming hosts who made our four-night stay even more comfortable. They really know how to provide hospitality to a high standard. The accommodation is spacious and peaceful, with a comfortable lounge where you can put on music on the free jukebox or record player. Our room was spotlessly clean, as were the sumptuous bedding and towels, and there were toiletries to use. The bed was very comfortable too. Breakfast was fabulous and plentiful, with plenty of choice.
