As a former coal miner, I loved the decor at this great little Seaham pub. The ales were top quality and there was plenty to choose from. The guy behind the bar was friendly and knew his stuff. It had only been open for two years when I visited with my wife on 31st July 2020. If I’m back in the north east, I’ll definitely return.

There’s a good range of drinks, with real ales that keep changing as well as ciders and spirits. The pub is nicely laid out and decorated, with a great atmosphere, live music and a pub quiz. The pub dogs are very cute too. Highly recommend a visit if you’re in the area!

Friends told us about the open mic every other Sunday, with a house band and people joining in on vocals and guitar, so we went along on 1st September. What a lovely afternoon. The music was fantastic, everyone was friendly, and the whole crowd had fun. We felt very welcome and plan to return in a fortnight for more spontaneous music, poetry and a sing-along. Glad places like this still exist.

Just by the church in Seaham centre, this is a friendly little bar with a good range of lovely ales and other drinks. The decor by local artists is really interesting.

For anyone who loves real ale, this is the best bar in Seaham. They were so friendly to us Lancashire folk, and Hugo the dig is an added bonus. Keep it up, and get more real ale converts up there!
