Donna and Paul go out of their way for their guests, and the fresh fruit salad at breakfast was such a treat. Fabulous stay. We can't wait to come back. If you find an available date, book it.

We've now stayed twice at Megstone House, and Donna and Paul have made us feel welcome both times. They're friendly, thoughtful, and know the local area really well. The room and facilities were spotless and excellent, and breakfast was delicious and kept us going all day. They were also happy to cater to dietary requests. Clare and I can't recommend staying here highly enough.

Donna and Paul made us lovely breakfasts each morning and were the best hosts. Our room was roomy and very clean, with stylish, solid furnishings and a comfortable en-suite that had plenty of space. The mattress had just the right firmness, and there was plenty of hot water. We'd happily recommend staying with them.

We quickly understood why some of the other couples had been coming back to Megstone House for years. Donna and Paul are genuinely lovely, and their warm, easygoing hospitality made us feel at home. If you're staying, a boat trip to the Farne islands is a great experience; you can also take a boat to Lindisfarne from Seahouses. The location worked really well for us, with the town and harbour close by and a direct road to St Aiden's beach, its dunes and views. Two bus stops nearby serve Bamburgh and Berwick station in one direction, and Alnwick the other way. When a bus timetable mix-up disrupted our plans, Donna and Paul called a friend who kindly drove us to Lindisfarne. They really saved the day. Our room was spacious, spotless and well equipped, as was the breakfast room. Breakfast started with a nicely laid table, fresh fruit and plenty of jams and cereals, followed by a generous cooked meal made just as we liked it. Paul even prepared porridge specially for us. Donna and Paul know the area and were glad to offer advice or help. If you find availability, book first and read this later. We mean it.

The hosts are lovely, and nothing seemed too much trouble. The B&B was very clean and comfortable. I'd highly recommend it.
