There’s a lively bar, plus a quieter room at the back, and a good choice of ales, lagers and ciders on tap, with bottles in the fridges and plenty of spirits and wine. Sports on the teles too. The staff are friendly, and the landlady manages herself and her customers firmly but fairly. A very friendly pub and a great experience, whether you’re passing through or staying a while.

After a 4 mile walk to and from Beer, we stopped in and were glad they were serving food out of season, when lots of places were closed. The adults had steak and ale pie, and the kids menu nuggets meal. Everything came piping hot and there was plenty of it, excellent value for money. The staff were really pleasant and made us feel welcome. We’ll definitely visit again.

The room was warm and quite adequate, and the staff were very friendly, but a few things let it down. The shower was dreadful and needs replacing. The mattress was badly worn, with springs you could feel through it, and the pillows were hard and lumpy. At check-in on Sunday afternoon we were told Sunday roast was served until 7pm, but when we came back at 6.30pm they’d run out of food. Staff couldn’t suggest anything, and Seaton has very few places to eat on a November Sunday night. We did manage to find something in the end.

We were 8 of us, without a booking, in half term and short on choices, so we were really glad to find this pub for lunch. The back room had loads for the kids to do, including board games, colouring and quizzes. The food was basic but good, with burgers, fish and kids meals. Service was super helpful and friendly. It did take over an hour for the food to arrive, but the kids had plenty to keep them occupied and everyone cleared their plate.

We stopped for the weekend and had a great stay. The staff were really friendly and helpful, and the food was very good. Our room was average, though the bed was surprisingly comfortable. The curtain could’ve been a little bigger. We’ll be back.
