Lisa and Dean were friendly and attentive in a down-to-earth way, with none of the hospitality feeling put on. The Mariners Hotel is right on the seafront, with stunning views over Lyme Bay and an unbeatable spot for coastal walks or sitting to watch the waves. It’s quiet and well maintained, with a personal touch and plenty of attention to detail. A good choice if you want comfort and quality away from the usual tourist crowds. The rooms were modern, spotlessly clean and well equipped. I appreciated the peaceful feel, good beds, daily housekeeping, reliable Wi-Fi and the welcome tray with tea and coffee. Breakfast was freshly cooked, had a good range and catered for dietary needs without any fuss. The evening bistro meals were excellent, though dinner isn’t served every night, so plan ahead.

We could easily have stayed longer, but we’d overscheduled ourselves, very American of us! We got in late after a harrowing drive for us Yanks on tiny roads and on the “wrong” side, without having eaten. Our lovely hosts kept the bistro open to make us a delicious meal. Thank you so much. Breakfast was made to order and lovely too. The hotel is small and sits right across from the seawall. We didn’t get a waterfront room, but the room at the back was comfortable and spacious. We could open the windows and hear the seagulls. It was a little warm on the first night with only a small fan, though not too bad. The bed was soft in a comfortable way, not saggy, and my back felt fine for a nice hike.

After a long day hiking the SWCP, we had dinner and drinks, and everything was perfect. The hotel is right on the seafront, with the route just outside. Lisa and Dean were both great hosts. Our room was spacious, with two very comfortable beds and its own ensuite. The bathroom was clean, modern and lovely. Breakfast was plentiful, with fresh fruit and cereal, then pretty much any cooked breakfast combination you wanted, plus as much freshly brewed coffee as you like.

We stayed over the weekend with our children, aged 6 and 2, and they were very well catered for. There was a little low bed for the toddler, plus a high chair and smaller cutlery for the kids. Lisa and Dean are such friendly, welcoming people. The food was very nice, with a great menu to choose from. The establishment, our room and the bathrooms were extremely clean, and the fittings were modern, including USB charging ports beside the bed. The views from right on the seafront are beautiful. Our stay was perfect. I’d definitely come back and recommend it to anyone visiting Seaton. Thank you for a lovely stay x

The beach and sea views are lovely, and the location is superb, with the town centre close by and Seaton tramway and other attractions a five-minute walk away. It was very quiet in our room. The hosts were friendly and chatty, and worked hard to make our stay enjoyable. The food was very good, with breakfasts cooked just right. We stayed two nights for a weekend break and wished we’d had longer. I’d highly recommend it for a friendly, relaxing seaside getaway.
