The rooms were cosy and warm, with plenty of hot water, and the beds and pillows were so comfortable. We had excellent pub food and breakfast, with really good service as well. Prices were very reasonable. I'd highly recommend it.

We ate here on Friday evening during our weekend in Beer, but didn't stay at the hotel. There was plenty of room despite booking, and we could choose our table. The menu had a good range and the prices seemed reasonable. We only had mains. The blackened chicken and chicken burger were both excellent, the steak pie was good though it could have had more steak, and the fish pie was okay but had too much mash and not enough fish. All the vegetables were very nice, and the staff were lovely and helpful. The beer selection was very good, but Thatchers Gold was the only cider on draft. It's decent, though I'd have expected something more interesting or local.

The place was spacious and comfortable, with tasteful decor, and the clean restrooms were easy to find. Staff were friendly and accommodating. There was a wide menu to choose from. I went for Sunday Roast Beef, a good-sized portion, and added cauliflower cheese. That was great, with proper cheese flavour rather than flour and a nice amount of seasoning. The Harissa chicken and Fish n Chips went down well too.

We came across this cosy hotel by chance and were glad we did. It was a truly lovely stay, and Caroline deserves a special thank you for her kindness and warm welcome. The staff were fantastic and made us feel at home. Wishing the hotel continued success, and we hope to visit again soon.
