We’ve stayed here twice now and will definitely come back. It’s a beautiful YHA in a lovely setting, with a relaxed atmosphere and the beach about a 10-minute walk away. The service was excellent and friendly.

We stopped here midway through a bike ride in June 2025 and had a fantastic stay. There was even a shed for our five bikes, which was handy. The host made us feel very welcome, and the location and facilities are brilliant for the price. Breakfast was cracking too. I can’t recommend it enough!

We used this as a base for a day in Beer. The accommodation was spotlessly clean and practical, and it’s well placed for the town centre and beautiful coastal walks. The grounds are extensive and lovely, and we got a warm welcome. Freshly caught fish is available in the nearby shopping area. We’ll have to return!

Parking was the tricky part: there’s room for about nine cars if people double-park, otherwise you can leave the car on the road below and walk up the steep drive. We camped in the garden and had access to all the indoor facilities. Both the building and garden are lovely. The hostel sleeps around 40 inside, with a few more outside, so it isn’t too noisy. The staff we met were friendly and welcoming.

Parking can get a little hectic, though it all seemed to work out fine. We left our phone number on the dashboard in case someone needed us to move the car. The hostel is in a great location, everything was well organised, and there was a nice lounge. Breakfast was cooked to order.
