We came back for our second visit this year, 2026, and stayed in another lodge. Each one we've tried has felt homely. We do have a preference, really: we like being right on the outer edge. My husband says we'll be back.

We've stayed here four times already, and plan to return. The Rushes sits in a peaceful spot by a pond, with loads of wildlife around. Getting to York and Escrick is easy too, since the bus stop is right outside the park. Great quality and inaccurate lodges in a handy location.

The lodge was stunning, and I was impressed by everything included. It's honestly the best holiday park I've been to. With the lovely views and wildlife, and such a calm, relaxing feel, it's a perfect place for my son. There's no chaos going on. I'll definitely return with him.

We stayed in The Rushes, which was clean, thoughtfully laid out and felt more like somebody's home than a rental. Tea, coffee and sugar were in the pots, and there was even a pint of milk in the fridge. The lodge had wifi and a hot tub, and the park itself was spacious, clean and peaceful. We arrived a couple of hours early, and the receptionist was incredibly helpful. The A19 location is convenient, just south of York and north of Selby. Thanks to the owners for letting people stay in this lodge.

There were lots of mosquitoes, wasps and horse flies, and I got bitten quite a bit, though I wouldn't say it spoiled the trip. The fire alarms kept going off because of the heat. They were very loud and frightened our dog. The alarms were taken away but weren't replaced during our stay. We were also asked not to play football on the communal grass, even though the rules and policy we'd read didn't mention ball games. That's a shame when children's activities are limited. The accommodation was clean, modern and practical, in a peaceful setting that worked well for a relaxing family break. We enjoyed the walking and cycling routes, plus the small tennis and petanque area.
