The Theakston room worked really well for me as a solo traveller. After cycling from Otley to Settle, I arrived pretty shattered, but Jackie and Chris took good care of me. They got my e-bike charging for the return trip, then showed me to my room for a much-needed rest and shower. Breakfast was fantastic, with plenty of choice, and the room had comprehensive information about the many places to eat in town in the evening. Highly recommended.

There are plenty of good walks from the B&B or a short drive away, and Luna the cat is lovely too. Jackie and Chris are charming hosts who run a great B&B. I’ve stayed four times, in four different rooms, and each was great. The breakfast is delicious and set us up well for walking. They also made an early start for the Three Peaks easy, which I really appreciated. Looking forward to visit number five.

The B&B is right in the middle of Settle, about 100 metres from the C2C route. A friend and I stayed while riding from Morecambe to Bridlington, and Jackie and Chris were so accommodating, nothing was too much trouble. They locked our bikes away safely in the basement. The room was clean and warm, with a great shower, and breakfast was fantastic. Thanks for a great stay.

We spent four nights at the King William the Fourth in Settle and really enjoyed it. The room was comfortable and affordable, the hosts were welcoming, and the breakfasts were great. Jackie is so friendly, and Chris’s poached eggs on toast were wonderful!

The King William IV is a comfortable, well-equipped guest house and a great place to stop while walking. Chris and Jackie are charming hosts who pay excellent attention to detail. We had both US and European power adapters in our room, and a little note on the tea tray let us know herbal tea bags were available in the breakfast room. Breakfast was wonderful, and the packed lunches were delicious, with homemade bread and flapjacks. Thank you, Jackie and Chris!
