The Craven Arms

The food was absolutely delicious, and we’ll be coming back. There were eleven of us for Boxing Day lunch, booked well ahead, but we hadn’t confirmed and our table had been given away. The staff were so kind about it. They quickly joined small tables together for us in the bar, brought drinks and cutlery, and got everyone’s order. Nothing seemed like too much trouble. We can’t recommend this lovely pub and place to eat highly enough. Thank you!

We slept brilliantly, even though we were right beside the main road. We stayed at The Craven Arms for a night while walking in the Yorkshire Dales, and the room was much more comfortable than we’d expected. We arrived to a lovely welcome, and the staff were friendly, checked that we were all right, and couldn’t do enough for us. It was freezing outside but very warm indoors. Dinner was delicious, with just-right portions, and breakfast was excellent too, clearly made with fine ingredients. A perfect stop for us. We’d definitely come back if we’re in the area again. We’ll definitely be back for another meal. Four of us had booked lunch, though there were plenty of free tables that day. All the mains came on lovely hot plates, and we enjoyed every mouthful. Desserts were great too. It’s a clean, well-kept pub with plenty of parking off the road. Whoever’s cooking really knows their craft.

The Featherblade steak won me over, even though I was tempted by the turkey. I’ve been here a few times, and on my last visit I mentioned Filey Bay whisky. The landlord said, “we’ve got some.” They’ve got the best whisky menu I’ve ever seen. This place is amazing, if you haven’t been yet, just do it :-)
