Gold Hill and the town centre were only a short walk away, which made the location really handy. We had a great time at 3 Ivy Cross. The room was roomy, clean and comfortable, and breakfast was delicious, especially the homemade yogurt. The hosts were so friendly and helpful. I’d definitely recommend it to anyone visiting Shaftesbury.

Mike made us feel at home as soon as we arrived, and was happy to help with anything, including our luggage. He also gave us useful suggestions for eating out in Shaftesbury. The bedroom was spacious, the bed very comfortable, and the en-suite was excellent. We had everything we needed for an enjoyable night, plus a delicious breakfast. We thoroughly recommend this B&B.

The garden was lovely, with mature trees and an unspoilt patch at the bottom that had really nice views. My bedroom was beautiful too, and I felt thoroughly spoiled. Breakfast was something else: homemade yogurt and jams, plus a full English, all served in a bright dining room. It was nice to watch it being cooked, and the atmosphere was very relaxed. Many thanks to Mike & Sally! I hope you got the whole lawn mowed, Mike 😁

We were here for two nights for my daughter’s wedding. The rooms and the rest of the property were spotless and tastefully decorated. Breakfast was made to order, with a really wide choice, and the hosts were attentive and friendly. It’s an easy walk into Shaftsbury. This small, welcoming hotel deserves more than five stars, if I could give them. You won’t be disappointed.

Room 1 was quiet, with a comfortable king-sized bed, and we slept wonderfully. The hosts went out of their way to make us feel at home. Breakfast was freshly cooked and great, and the coffee was good too. Shaftesbury is a pleasant, short walk away. A couple of useful things: if you miss the property at the roundabout, circle back and look again. It’s clearly marked and has plenty of off-road parking. Gold Hill is worth a visit, as it’s where the famous Hovis advert was filmed. Book a restaurant before you travel to avoid disappointment. We loved San Tonino Italian Restaurant, inside a former church.
