La Fleur de Lys

The breakfast was excellent and well presented. I had a full English, and my son chose fruit and yoghurt, with a lovely selection of fruit, a little taste of each that made a good-sized bowl. Breakfast came with attentive, friendly table service, proper linen tablecloths and napkins. The furnishings were luxurious, and I’d never slept in a four-poster before. Brilliant location at the top of the hill in Shaftsbury, handy for pretty much everything. Recommended.

Coming in from the rain, the hotel felt cosy and comfortable. We stayed overnight and really enjoyed it. The room was comfortable and nicely decorated, and the bathroom was very clean. There were thoughtful touches like homemade biscuits beside the tea-making facilities. Breakfast had an excellent choice, and everything was well cooked. It seemed very well managed.

I’ve only eaten at the restaurant, never stayed there. It’s a brilliant French restaurant, with quality dining and top-notch ingredients and menu choices. The traditional, old-fashioned service is fabulous. I’d highly recommend it.

We stayed overnight after spending a wonderful evening at the fluer de lys for my wife’s 70th birthday, with our daughter and her partner. The restaurant meal was superb, and we all enjoyed the food and wine. The service and attention were excellent, and the team looked after us very well. Our accommodation was first class too, spotless and well maintained, and breakfast was just as good. Many thanks to everyone for making the evening and stay so special. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend the place to anyone looking for a very pleasurable experience. Many thanks to you all.
