We stopped in for a drink on several evenings while in Shanklin and loved the place. The hosts were friendly, helpful and informative. There's a lovely bar, with a hat shop beside it that has a great selection. I'd thoroughly recommend coming for a quiet evening or a daytime visit to the teashop.

The location was great and the bed was comfortable. The woman at reception was friendly and helpful, though I can't say the same for the other, grumpy man. It looked to me like she was also handling the cleaning and cooking, and I'm guessing she could use some help, especially with the cleaning. The bathrooms were far from perfect, and the hotel could do with some refurbishment. The price was okay, hence the three stars for the experience overall.

The location worked really well, just a short straight walk to Shanklin Cliff Lift and then on to the beach. We stayed in a family room, and my son loved having his own little alcove. Staff were welcoming, and breakfast was fantastic. The bar was always cozy, and when the weather turned we spent a whole afternoon there playing board games.

The room was on the small side, but quirky, and the bed was good. We liked the quiet atmosphere and the place's character. The hosts were very nice, and the tasty English breakfast set us up well in the morning. It's well located near the beach and old village. Can only recommend.

We had a really enjoyable four-day break with our grandson, and the room was just right for the three of us. The crisp white bedding was lovely, and Lesley and Simon were a very nice couple. The English breakfast was great and kept you full for the day. If you've never been to the Isle of wight before, it feels like stepping back in time.
