The Fordham Inn

We visit Santa pod regularly, and this place is only a short drive away in a lovely village. The locals were welcoming and the staff very friendly and helpful. The room was a pleasant surprise for the price: comfy beds, a big TV, kitchen space, a lovely en suite and lots of useful little extras. The iron and ironing board were handy, and the bottle opener made us laugh. There's also a pleasant outdoor seating area. The spice tree restaurant was another nice surprise, popular with locals too. The pub area felt welcoming, and the food was fantastic, cooked to order and great value. Highly recommend. This will be our first choice when booking a room. Thanks to Bobby and the staff.

We stayed for a night while visiting Santa Pod, and I wouldn't hesitate to book again. Bobby met us on arrival, showed us our room and handed over the keys. The rooms are reached from the side of the establishment through a locked door, and we were given a key for that as well as our room key. Inside was a communal area with an iron and board, Bobby's contact details in case we needed anything, and the WiFi information. From there we could use the very clean shared kitchen, which had all the amenities we could want. Our room was brilliant, with what looked like a queen-size bed, tasteful decor and everything impeccably tidy. The ensuite was exceptionally clean. We ate at the Spice Tree, the Indian Restaurant on the premises, and the food was delicious. The staff there were lovely and friendly. Thanks, Bobby!

The room was fine for the price, nothing special. We had no hot water in the morning, though. After the 5pm check-in time, there was still nobody around to check us in, so I ended up wandering around the Indian restaurant downstairs like a lemon, trying to find someone. The walls and door to the communal area are really thin, and I could hear the couple next door arguing in the early hours.

The apartment was beautiful and had everything you could want. The kitchenette was very well stocked, and the ensuite shower was one of the best I've seen. Although there's a pub with a good restaurant attached, the apartments are quiet. The landlord was very friendly and helpful. Excellent stay, I'd certainly recommend it and use this accommodation again.
