Down Hall Hotel

Breakfast the next morning was amazing, and the complimentary congratulations cake was such a thoughtful touch. The staff were lovely too. They took our bags to the room, and late check-in was no problem. We spent our wedding night in the Honeymoon Suite at Down Hall Hotel & Spa. The room was incredible, with beautiful views and a stunning copper bath that we absolutely loved. It was a truly lovely experience and the perfect end to our special day. Highly recommended. 💍✨

The room was just right for getting together, with soft music and little background noise, so we could all chat and hear each other. Leah was so friendly and accommodating, making everyone feel welcome and comfortable. Nothing was too much trouble. We booked afternoon tea to mark the first anniversary of my Nan's passing and bring the family together over her favourite things, sandwiches, cake and tea. The food was delicious.

The service was exemplary, attentive without getting in the way, and the food was so delicious that words don't do it justice. It was such a lovely, personal wedding, full of joy. What a sensational venue. The building has a wonderful atmosphere, with beautiful open fires in fireplaces big enough to be houses. Superb!

We stayed for 6 nights from 21st December and had a fantastic time. It was an ideal base near our young family, and everyone made us feel at home. Bella & James were the staff we saw most often, though the whole team was friendly, helpful and accommodating, with high standards. Everywhere felt homely and organised. The breakfast selection was great and high quality, and they could make something different if needed. We ordered food on some evenings in the garden room and the Fox lounge. We liked the lounge best because it was so beautifully decorated. The grounds were fabulous for walks, including with the family. Our granddaughter loved the park areas, then we could get cosy inside with hot chocolate. Our room was spacious and quiet, though it felt dated, it was well looked after. It had a great garden view and a table where we could sit with drinks or snacks. Of course children get excited, but they sleep eventually! It was Christmas, after all. We didn't use the spa, but it's on the list for next time. I'd happily recommend the hotel, and we'll surely return. I'd love to see it in the different seasons.
