Dan made our evenings memorable during the two weeks we were there over the Easter half term. He worked every night but one and put his all into it, getting everyone singing and dancing. The kids loved his enthusiasm, and he made a point of including people of all ages and encouraging everyone to join in. The bingo banter was our favourite. A huge shout-out to Dan and the night entertainment team. See you again soon!
The gas ran out on Sunday morning, leaving us without heating or showers, which was a problem with two children. Reception said nothing could be done until 9 am because they were closed, even though guests were staying there. We ended up leaving a day early. When we arrived on Friday 15th May 2026, we had to spend two hours cleaning before we could unpack or use the caravan. The sheets had brown marks on them, and reception said they had been changed, though they clearly hadn't. There was old food under the beds, cobwebs around the place, a dirty fridge, and a filthy shower cubicle. The bedroom door wouldn't shut, the pull-out bed sofa was broken, and the cooker only worked if you got the button just right. They say all the caravans are gold standard, but this was a terrible stay. I wouldn't book this holiday park again.
At 1 am, there were loud, drunk groups shouting, swearing, arguing and smoking weed. Are there no security patrols? We won't be coming back. The caravan wasn't clean. The toilet was brown-stained and needed a proper scrub, the shower door area was filthy, and the hose was covered in black marks and limescale. The kitchen extractor was greasy with cobwebs on it. Light switches were marked, and there were wall stains that could easily have been wiped away. A friend also found about an inch of cooking fat in the grill pan. Are the caravans cleaned and checked at all? The bar prices were ridiculous. Lemonade cost £2.60 and tasted like cleaning fluid. I returned it three times but wasn't offered a refund. The barmaid said it tasted fine to her, though she hadn't tried it, while at least four people in my group said it was vile. Others in our group tried the bar food and weren't impressed with either its price or quality. The “in it to win it” game feels like a massive con. Your ticket gets picked but you never win anything, and nobody ever seems to. I've never known a “winning” ticket get nothing. This needs investigating.
The location was excellent, the price was good, and the staff were friendly and helpful. We enjoyed the stay and would visit again, though there are a few things that need sorting out. Our six-person caravan was comfortable for three, but I'd call it more suitable for four. The bed was comfortable enough, though not to my taste. The TV was small, so we watched from the floor closer to it. The area is lovely and the caravans are spacious, but they seem to have crammed in about twice as many as they should, and most don't have parking right outside. The caravan itself was clean apart from the kitchen things: utensils, plates, pans, cutlery and the draining board were filthy. When we asked about a missing grill and raised hygiene concerns, staff seemed to make excuses and ask why we hadn't mentioned it two days earlier. We hadn't checked every item on arrival, since making sure everything is there and clean is their job. We didn't use the bar or other facilities on site. If you work, the prices are hard to afford. There are better-priced places nearby with a better atmosphere. Lower prices would improve the atmosphere and could bring in more money. Maybe next time they'll have fixed the smaller issues and earn five stars instead of four.
The site itself is great, and the staff, including reception, were excellent. I enjoyed my weekend from 3rd-6th October, and the clubhouse was good, though very expensive. My main issue was the cleanliness and a few things in the adapted caravan, which I used because I'm quite disabled. There was a lot of fat left in the kitchen grill pan, which I reported to reception. The sliding doors, especially the toilet door, were so stiff they wouldn't close until maintenance came to fix them. Even after that, I could close the toilet door but couldn't use its lock, which was awkward when I had visitors. Despite those problems, I loved my time there.
