Hazlehead House

I stay here regularly and always love it. Steve is a brilliant host who’ll go out of his way to help, and the stay is always perfect.

The disco room was the big surprise, like having our own Studio 54. Steve saved it for last on the tour, and we were blown away. Before that, he’d welcomed us into the warm, inviting house with Prosecco and had us all laughing. We ended up singing and dancing to ABBA, then carried on drinking, singing and laughing the rest of the night. The hot tubs kept us warm, and the industrial ice machine kept the drinks cold. We had a fantastic couple of nights in this beautiful house and its gorgeous Yorkshire surroundings. We’ve already booked twice for next year. Such a great way to celebrate a rubbish year.

The place needed a thorough clean and a fresh coat of paint. It definitely hadn’t been deep cleaned as promised, and I kept wondering why they hadn’t painted it during lockdown. I’d been looking forward to some precious time with my family. My sister had paid because we expected something special, and seeing how upset she was made it worse. She felt awful for having booked it.

Two hot tubs, a bar and a disco room, all in a peaceful, secluded spot. I love this guesthouse and would recommend it.
