Lisa at reception made us feel welcome, remembered our earlier conversation and surprised us with an upgrade for our special occasion. The balcony view was stunning, and her care made me feel comfortable and glad I chose Kenwood Hall. Elise had also decorated the spotless room with lovely little touches that made us smile as soon as we walked in. Check-in was effortless and we had everything we needed. From booking onward, the team and their customer service have been so good. Everyone was kind, attentive and helpful. We had a chance to unwind at the spa and had the best time. I’d recommend Kenwood Hall for a stay, private event or spa day, and we’ll definitely be back. Thank you to everyone!

Lisa at reception made my birthday memorable by upgrading our room. Elise had prepared it with balloons and a birthday card, a personal touch that made walking in a lovely surprise and turned the stay into a lasting memory. The room was spacious, comfortable and immaculately presented, and everything felt cared for and relaxing. Staff were friendly, helpful and attentive throughout, and the whole hotel felt warm and welcoming. We truly appreciated the kindness from Lisa, Elise and the team, and we’re already looking forward to returning. We spent time in the warm, cosy pool, then tried the sauna, steam room and jacuzzi. It washed away a week’s worth of stress. Everything was clean, tidy and well presented, there was plenty to do, and nobody rushed us on to the next activity. The other guests were pleasant too, which made for a relaxed atmosphere. Lisa at reception surprised me with an upgrade to a luxurious suite for my partner’s birthday. There was a card, chocolates and even a towel cake with a happy couple made from flannels. My partner loves origami, so she loved it. After a week of work and bad weather, the peaceful stay was just what we needed. Everything we needed seemed to be provided, including free parking. Housekeeping was polite and attentive, and everything felt fresh and clean, like a home away from home. The staff were kind and helpful, the dining areas were beautifully arranged, and the menu was wholesome and tasty. The place felt classy from the moment we arrived. We also loved the spectacular grounds and lake, and will be back to explore them. If only they could sort out the weather too! Kenwood Hall is a hidden gem. I wish I’d found it sooner, it’s a better kept secret than the colonel’s recipe.

The grounds were lovely, with a lake, and the location is good for the Peak district. We spent a couple of nights here, but the hotel fell short of what I expected. The first room was dated, with very old carpet and what looked like blackened chewing gum stains. It also had a persistent unpleasant smell, even after we aired it out. We asked to move and were told no other room was available until the next day. We were moved to a suite the following day, which was much better and made the rest of the stay more comfortable. Lisa and Steph were friendly and helpful, and did their best to sort things out. The room change made the stay acceptable, but I wouldn’t come back or call it a four-star experience. We used the pool once, but the pool and changing areas were much less clean than I’d expect. That’s the main reason we didn’t go back, which was a shame since the pool was one of the reasons we booked. The hotel could be amazing with updated rooms and higher cleanliness standards.
