Bowlish House - Restaurant with rooms

We were a family group of six adults and three children, staying in the Deluxe Family Suite, King room and Double Deluxe, all on the first floor. Maryanne had the fire going in the bar room when we arrived, and there's an honesty bar there as well as a larger lounge. In the morning, fresh pastries and yogurts were left on a tray outside our bedroom door. Bowlish House is a lovely old Georgian home, full of antiques and artistic touches. Maryanne was warm and attentive, and helpful both before and during our visit. We really enjoyed our stay and would book again. The Crown pub down the road at Pilton is worth visiting too.

We came home feeling properly rested and thoroughly spoiled after a blissful weekend at Bowlish House. The thoughtful little touches, complimentary drinks and sumptuous breakfast in bed made us feel so well cared for.

Maryanne made our week at her house feel effortless. She answered our questions throughout, let us arrive early, was flexible on the price when we booked directly, and even rearranged furniture to make things more comfortable for us and our two small dogs. We opted for afternoon tea, which was another lovely detail, and followed several of her local recommendations. The house is huge, so the dogs' bell collars came in handy. As Maryanne had warned, its age and very high ceilings mean some open areas can feel a bit chilly in winter. We brought jumpers and had an extra space heater, so it wasn't a problem. Her taste is impeccable, and there were so many beautiful details that you'll find yourself shopping for things you spot around the house.

Maryanne and her family helped make our wedding feel like a dream. They were there for us at every step, and catered both the rehearsal meal and the wedding feast. I'll always be grateful for how much they cared about me, the wedding and my family. We rented all of Bowlish House for three days, for the bridal party and family visiting from abroad. Every guest felt at home and loved their room. The house itself is breathtaking, with every room a treasure. As soon as I walked in, I knew my husband and I had to get married there. It's a wonderful place for events, and I'd say go for it if you're considering it. Thank you all again xxxx
