Stoneleigh Barn B&B

I stayed in the Red Room, and it was not a good experience. The breakfast tables were grubby and stained, there was dust around the bed, and the tray for the complimentary tea and coffee was filthy. The kettle was dirty too. Milk from a flask separated when I poured it into my tea. I didn’t sleep in the bed because the bedding looked and smelled as if it had been used and not washed. The Wi-Fi was poor, and the owners’ customer care was poor. Their dog was allowed to beg at the table while we were eating, which was poor as well. After driving 200 miles on business, and not knowing the area better, I would have found a Travelodge.

The service was great, and there was a wide range of delicious breakfast choices. My room was very clean, hygienic and well organized.

The countryside was even better than the lovely building. The host is a legend, and special mention to Nutmeg the dog as well.

Nutmeg was an absolute angel, especially when she wanted a belly rub. Our host was perfect, friendly, attentive and informative, and nothing was too much trouble. The room was airy, clean and lovely. The bathroom was great, with a wet room shower and roll top bath. There was good parking and a great selection at breakfast. A lovely B+B.
