We only booked one night at this beautiful boutique hotel and wished we'd stayed for two. The owners and staff were amazing, so welcoming and friendly from the moment we arrived, and everything about it felt unique. Our room was stunning, spotlessly clean, and every detail and personal touch felt just right. The guest room for meeting people over pre-dinner drinks had a lovely atmosphere. The cocktails and their own gin were excellent, and the food was outstanding, made with fantastic local produce. Breakfast was amazing too, especially the homemade granola. Thank you so much, we'll definitely be back.

The hotel was a lucky find. I'd never been to Norfolk, but came across this boutique hotel and booked three nights with my partner after reading the reviews. It's beautifully decorated and spotlessly clean, and our room was just the right size, with a really comfortable bed and lovely bathroom and shower. Breakfast was exceptional, freshly cooked to order with lots of choices. We ate at the North restaurant in the hotel on Tuesday evening, and Sophie, who looked after us, was polite and courteous. The food was excellent. Sally and Joanna run the hotel and manage everything so well. They're lovely people, nothing is too much trouble, and they even helped carry our luggage up and down the stairs without being asked. We didn't get the chance to say goodbye, but thank you all very much. Your hotel really is the star of the show! Mark and Jackie

The Drury Lane room was really comfortable, and breakfast was excellent. We also had dinner in the restaurant one night, with lovely food and top-notch service. Everyone who runs and works at this little hotel was so friendly. We had a great two-night weekend stay and will definitely come back to Sheringham.

At £370 for two nights with breakfast, I expected much better quality. The room was advertised as looking onto a side garden, but the view was actually rooftops. It felt more like a B&B, and calling it a boutique hotel seems a stretch when there's only sachet coffee and no coffee machine. The toilet seat didn't have a soft-close hinge either. The bedroom at the top of the house was very cold because the heating went off around 19:30. I asked for a heater, then had to ask again over half an hour later. They said they were busy with guests at a private function. The restaurant and bar were also closed for that private booking, and we weren't told before arriving. The owner was unfriendly. We were even asked to switch off the landing light outside our room. With several flights of stairs, we thought that was dangerous in an emergency.

We live nearby and often come for Sunday lunch, or sit in the garden for cocktails in summer. Last Friday was a perfect evening for it, with warm air, sunshine and a bit of sea breeze. Sophie made us a classic martini and a French martini. We had the seafood platter, crab cakes and Joanna's homemade coleslaw with a bottle of chilled white wine, then finished with cheese and another cocktail. Lovely atmosphere, delicious food, and Sally and Sophie looked after us so well.
