The Albert Hotel

We were stranded by the snow the other day and came across the Albert hotel. Even though it was closed, they were able to help us. The bed and room were amazing.

Our family of four stayed in Louise, the family room. It was clean, lovely and spacious. We ate in the pub downstairs, where the food was good and the kids’ portions were amazing. Breakfast was served there too, tasty and cooked to order. The car park isn’t at the hotel, but it wasn’t a long walk, even for our three-year-old. The staff were really friendly, helpful and flexible with our family’s needs. It was incredible value for money, and we’d definitely stay again. I don’t usually leave reviews, but I was so happy with our stay and with how comfortable the staff made us feel.

Breakfast was included and was exceptional, with really high-quality food and fantastic service from Paul each day. I stayed three nights, Thursday to Sunday, in Victoria (room #2), and slept very well. The bed was comfy, and I didn’t hear any of the noise other reviewers mentioned. It’s a conveniently located hotel, and I was pleasantly surprised by how spacious the room was. It had a separate bedroom, living area and bathroom, plus tea and coffee facilities and a fridge in the hallway. I’d highly recommend it and would happily return.

I had to arrive early because I urgently needed the room to get ready for a wedding. The Housekeepers finished cleaning it quickly, which was really accommodating. Despite facing the main road, it was amazingly quiet. The room and bathroom were super clean, with carpet and tiled flooring, and felt warm and inviting. Great beds, solid and comfortable. I also love that each room has its own lovely name. Very unique 🙂
