The food was really good, and the staff were excellent. Carys served me in the evening and was friendly and sociable; dinner was good on both nights, though a couple more tortilla would have been nice. Elaine served breakfast with a welcoming smile and good service. The room was tidy and a bit small, but fine for my two-night stay. I arrived early and was told at check-in that the room wasn’t quite ready, as I expected. The location by the river severn is fabulous, with stunning countryside around. Looking forward to coming back in a few weeks.

We celebrated my mum’s birthday with Sunday lunch at the Corbett, and the food was superb, second to none. Javier (I think that’s his name) was brilliant, and the service and attention to detail were exceptional. He discreetly asked whether my mum, who is older, would prefer a smaller main course portion, which was very welcome. She declined dessert and had a full-size pudding instead. Nothing was too much trouble. Highly recommend.

The only small snag was the car park, which gets busy and can be tricky to get in and out of at peak times. We had a family Sunday dinner, with six of us choosing different dishes, and every one was delicious. The food was cooked to perfection, with generous meat and vegetables, followed by a scrumptious sticky toffee pudding. Friendly staff, a lovely atmosphere and an excellent outdoor area too.

The Corbet Arms had been a favourite for me and my family through many meals over the past decade. Sadly, the last two visits were let down by poor service, especially from the manager, who seemed to have no customer service skills and came across as rude. It’s spoiled this lovely pub for us as a family, and we won’t be returning.

The outdoor seating is lovely, looking out over the river, and the staff are friendly and efficient. The Sunday roast is delicious, plentiful and home cooked. We can’t fault it, and you won’t find better than this.
