Residence Inn Slough

The rooftop at Moxy makes Slough look surprisingly beautiful. Great atmosphere, cocktails I really enjoyed, and friendly staff. My room was clean and comfortable too. It’s such a fun place to spend time, and a bit of a hidden gem.

A superb stay. The rooms were spotless and had everything I needed, and breakfast was very good. The station is about a five-minute walk away, with trains taking around 25 minutes to central London. There’s also free parking around the corner.

We found this a solid, well-priced base near London, with a bit more room than usual and a station close by. Free parking is about a five-minute walk away. It isn’t gated, but we felt safe and had no problems. It’s Slough, so I’d look into the area beforehand. Plenty of families seem to use it for Legoland trips. The staff really made our two-week stay. They were consistently lovely and helpful. Our courtyard-facing room was generally quiet, though recycling and deliveries made Monday mornings noisy. The gym has enough equipment for a proper workout. The rooms are modern and well equipped, but don’t expect an oven. There’s a small hob and a microwave with a grill. The beds were too soft for us, and we kept rolling towards the middle. Breakfast comes with the stay, which is handy, but it’s a small selection and the same every day. Little Lahore across the street was absolutely delicious, highly recommend it.

We got a lot for the money: spacious rooms, a lovely view from the window, and very good service. The bath was a favourite, and breakfast had a nice range of food. Parking is free, though it’s in a car park about a two-minute walk away, not at the hotel.
