Travelodge Langley

Getting to London Heathrow and the Queen Elizabeth line by bus was very convenient, but I won't use this hotel again. The reception door was left open, as was a wall cupboard that looked like it held room keys. I waited for refreshment supplies with nobody around, so anyone could have entered and potentially accessed the rooms. I expected better after hearing that a key had been given to a man who said he was the boyfriend of a girl staying there. Similar things happened on other days, with staff in an office across from reception, and I couldn't tell how much attention they were paying to the area. I didn't feel safe at all and was glad I hadn't booked alone. I slept badly, possibly because of the security concerns, or because the bed and pillows weren't comfortable.

We stay here whenever we have a flight from Heathrow. There's parking, it's clean, and the bus stop for the airport is right outside. Toby carvery serves great food too. A great stay.

We knew to expect a basic hotel, but the room, though made up for four, had rubbish under the beds: three half-full water bottles, an empty fizzy drink can, a piece of chicken, a toy ball, a plaster and a tissue. The bathroom was clean. The smell of cannabis hit us when we walked in, and the front of house staff member only mumbled at us, so we left everything where it was, ate at the Toby carvery and reported it in the morning. The staff member we told then asked, rather accusingly, why we hadn't reported it sooner, and said she'd checked the room herself the previous day and it hadn't been like that. I explained we were reporting it because we didn't want to be blamed, which was what her remark seemed to imply. We understand Travelodge is a budget basic hotel, but I wish we'd paid a little more for the better quality of Premier Inn.

The manager said I should receive an E voucher as compensation, and that would be acceptable if it comes through. My stay was badly disrupted on the first night, Friday 13th March. My room was next to one of two rooms where a loud, exuberant group kept moving between them. The noise went on for several hours and wasn't brought under control until police intervened at 7 am on Saturday 14th.
