Leaded Light - Guest House

I travelled up from London and stayed at Leaded Light Guest House on March 5th 2025. I arrived late, but Helen was accommodating, and her sons were welcoming too. The room was clean and tidy, and it was a quiet stay. Highly recommend.

The host was very friendly, greeted us and showed us to the room. It was a handy location for the party we were attending, with a lovely view over the gardens and magnolia trees in flower. The bed was comfortable, and there was tea, coffee, biscuits and a hairdryer. That said, the room was basic. The broken window seal let in a draft and made a whistling noise, the shower was mouldy, and we could hear other guests in their rooms.

I’ve stayed twice in two months and Helen made me feel welcome both times. She’s a wonderful host, and the rooms are always warm and clean. I’m looking forward to coming back again, soon and in the future! X

Helen made me feel completely welcome, and her lovely house is spotless, comfortable and full of character. My room had two antique armchairs, and the bed was clean and comfortable. I liked the leaded and stained glass in the interior doors; the outer windows are double glazed, which muffles the road noise. There’s parking for several cars on the paved front garden and beyond. The train station is only a few minutes’ easy walk away. My return fare into central Birmingham was £2.40 with a senior railcard. If I come back for more courses in Birmingham, I’ll definitely return to the home Helen is happy to share. Very highly recommended.
