Back for my second work stay in three months. The staff greeted me warmly when I arrived, and the double room was tidy and very clean, with a modern en-suite, fresh towels and shampoo dispensers. There's a wall-mounted TV with Freeview and free guest Wi-Fi, plus a shared kitchen with all the cooking equipment, free to use whenever. Right by the water with great views. Pubs and shops are nearby, and the drive to Kirkwall takes about 30 minutes with lovely scenery on the way.

The location makes getting around easy: it's beside the ferry port, with the post office and local store opposite, parking outside or nearby, and a bus stop just outside. The house is also spacious, modern, and immaculate. Shona was quick and friendly in her messages, then welcomed me and showed me around. The kitchen had loads of storage and fridge/freezer room, a very large oven, hobs, pans, crockery, and utensils, along with a roomy dining area for eight. I wouldn't hesitate to stay again. The owner was helpful, quick to answer my questions, and welcomed me with a tour when I arrived. My room was comfortable, clean, and well equipped, and the kitchen was just as clean and well stocked. The whole place was a higher standard than I'd expected from a hostel, and very reasonably priced. Wi-Fi worked perfectly.

Good spot for exploring Orkney. It's tucked away along the road, with street parking nearby. Check-in was at the pub down the road.
