Little Haven Hotel On The Beach

We held a Celebration of Life in the Harbour Suite, and it went exactly as we’d hoped. Jess, the Events Manager, communicated and organised everything very well, and the other staff, including Main Reception, were efficient and helpful. I’d certainly recommend it.

The views over the Tyne river, north shields and Tynemouth were stunning. My friends and I had a lovely meal, and I’d especially recommend the fish and chips. Service was slow, but it also meant we didn’t feel rushed.

We only wanted something light for tea, but were told they didn’t serve the night time menu until 6pm. A cook overheard us and kindly offered to make what my partner and I wanted, then brought it over himself. He was polite and well spoken. It’s pet friendly too, with its own menu, which is nice. I’ll come back with my four legged friend.

The receptionist was lovely and friendly when we stopped after a coastal walk to get some food. I didn’t stay at the hotel, but the restaurant menu was very limited, with only Sunday dinners, sandwiches and tomato soups. I’d expected a buffet with the kind of selection you see at most hotels. The toilets and highchairs weren’t very clean, and the baby changing area was dirty despite a sign saying it had been cleaned. The high chair was dirty too and should have been cleaned. I checked online and it’s £170 a night for three people. That seems fair for a seaside location, but I wouldn’t pay it given the food choice and cleanliness. Little haven hotel may be little, but I wouldn’t call it a haven. I wouldn’t stay here even if someone paid me.
