Ocean Road Rooms

For our anniversary weekend, my boyfriend and I found the room clean, comfortable and in perfect condition, with a beautiful view out the window. It’s close to the beach and park, so it was easy to head down and relax in the sun. The manager was kind and helpful throughout. Can’t wait to come back next time Xx.

It was peaceful and good in some ways, but I won’t stay there again after this first B&B experience. I was bitten on my legs and elsewhere by fleas, and found tablets in the drawers when I went to put my clothes away. There were lots of holes in the walls, and the place wasn’t very clean. Behind the fridge were old things like tobacco papers, and there was blood beside the bin. There also weren’t many places to charge my phone. Sorry, but I won’t be back.

We never got as far as checking in or seeing the room. We’d arranged an early check-in because we were going to a family funeral, but the person in charge wasn’t there. A man who seemed drunk greeted us, and we waited 20 minutes for Mark, who never showed up. While waiting, we saw someone trying to sell drugs to people inside the B&B. The ceiling was leaking, there was a huge hole in the wall, and the place smelled of damp and stale alcohol. I wouldn’t let my dog stay there.

Basic but clean, and excellent value for the price. There’s free street parking outside if you get lucky, as I did.
