Looking out over the ruins from my room was stunning. The room itself was immaculate and spacious, with a really comfortable bed. On arrival I was greeted warmly and offered a complimentary glass of red wine. The owners paid close attention to what we needed, and I’d wholeheartedly recommend the place.

The village centre and its great Pub are an easy five minute walk away, and the beautiful ruins are right across the road, visible from the bedroom window. Fairlawn was excellent value, and I’ll definitely return. Craig made us feel welcome straight away, greeting us with a big smile and cold beer/wine, then going out of his way to make the stay comfortable. Breakfast was great too, with hot croissants, perfectly poached eggs and good strong coffee. Our spacious room had a lovely comfy bed, quality linen and towels, and a big, modern, clean bathroom. 10/10.

We were just a short walk from the high street, yet it felt like a quiet, idyllic retreat. The room looked out over the Bishops Waltham ruins and was clean and tidy, with everything we needed. They even kindly gave us a glass of wine when we arrived.

After six months of weekend stays, I’d come back any time. The staff were friendly and welcoming, and the place was very clean. It was such a nice, comfortable place to unwind after a hard day at work, especially with the lake view from the window.
