Hilton Southampton - Utilita Bowl

Mark was incredibly helpful during our stay and went out of his way to make sure things were right. His professionalism, friendliness, and willingness to help made us feel welcome and had a real impact on our experience. We had a fantastic stay at the Hilton in an Executive Suite, which was spacious, clean, comfortable, and relaxing, with great attention to detail. Excellent service throughout. We'd definitely return and highly recommend it.

Clean and well stocked as always at the Hilton Southampton. During a disturbance, the night staff member was superb, calm, professional, and reassuring. Unfortunately, I didn't get his name. The manager the next morning was just as good, taking time to follow up and make sure everything was handled well. Great service, and I'm looking forward to staying again soon. 15/01/26 Oliver

The best part was breakfast. We were checked in and went upstairs with our suitcases, only to find maintenance underway in the room, so we had to come back down and ask for another one. We paid £5 for hotel parking, even though the guest info on the TV said parking was complimentary. They offered a restaurant voucher to make up for giving us the wrong room; she said she'd book the restaurant and send the voucher to our room, but it never arrived. There was no fridge, and my wife was cold in bed with no extra blanket. We went to the spa hoping to swim and use the hot tub, but were told everything was fully booked and we could only use the gym. We wouldn't stay again. There are cheaper and better hotels elsewhere.

The complaint process left us just as disappointed as the stay itself. I’m a Hilton Honors member, and after chasing several times I waited nearly four months for a reply. When it came, the response felt dismissive and rude, with a blunt refusal to refund us. They offered 40,000 Hilton Honors points, but that didn’t match the disruption or what we paid. We were at the Hilton Utilita Bowl on Saturday 27th September and spent £494 on two rooms, plus dinner at Beefy’s, which cost around £380. A large, very rowdy wedding party made the lobby and restaurant chaotic. Guests were shouting and children were unsupervised, so we couldn’t relax or enjoy dinner. It got worse overnight. Intoxicated, aggressive guests filled the corridors, shouting and knocking on doors repeatedly. We felt unsafe and barely slept, finally getting some rest after 4am. Our plans for the Southampton Boat Show the next day were completely ruined. We hadn’t received the calm, secure, restful stay we expected from a Hilton. Very disappointing from both the hotel and Hilton Honors. If a peaceful stay and respectful service matter to you, I’d seriously consider another hotel.
