Avoid this place. The bed was uncomfortable, with a badly worn mattress and sheets, and you could see the springs. The room was damp and dirty, and although it was near the high street, the area was noisy. The Booking.com photos and reviews above 7 gave a misleading impression. When I arrived, the room was in a terrible state, so I left an hour after check-in and booked a hotel instead. I’ve now been waiting a couple of weeks for a refund, and the property seems very unprofessional and unconcerned. I wish I’d spent £20 more on a decent hotel.

The mattress was awful, full of lumps, and you could feel the bed frame through it. It looks like it might not have been replaced in years. With it 27 degrees outside, the room was just as hot, and neither window would open. The shower drain was blocked, so the tray overflowed after about three minutes, while the water swung from boiling to freezing every ten seconds. You couldn't cool off at all. Spend the extra ten pounds or so on a decent hotel. PS, please take some pride in these rooms.

The town-centre street was pleasant and the location was good, but our room was dirty and in terrible shape. The windows and doors were moldy, dead flies were scattered around and more were flying, and the walls were damaged. We found a convertible sofa instead of a comfortable bed, positioned so close to the sink that it got wet whenever the tap was turned on. We only needed somewhere acceptable for one night and left very disappointed. It wasn't worth the price, even with the good location, so I'd look elsewhere, even if it costs a little more. The listing called it a hotel, but that's not what it is. After booking, they asked me for an extra £100 damage deposit that hadn't been mentioned in the conditions. I said I didn't think that was legal, and they stopped asking. Given the state of the room, I wouldn't have trusted them to return that money if I'd paid.

Please avoid this place. The apartment wasn't as advertised, it smelled of cannabis, and the room was untidy. The mattress was so thin I could feel the wooden slats underneath. I reported it to booking.com, and after they contacted the property, we agreed that I'd remove my review in return for a full refund. Five weeks passed without hearing from the property. They pressured me into deleting a valid review, so I'm posting this one now. Mark it and stay away.
