Room and Roof Southampton Apartments

The place is near a busy road, but we didn't hear any traffic. There's a nice back garden and plenty of greenery. Inside, it was very clean even in tucked-away spots like the skirting boards, window sills, drawers, cupboards and refuse bin. The kitchen was well equipped, and communication with the owner was good. Check-in and check-out were both easy. I'd like to book again.

We couldn't stay and asked to cancel because we didn't feel we could risk our health during the Covid-19 pandemic. OYO then spent six hours of calls trying to avoid a refund before eventually returning our money. It ruined our mini-holiday, and the customer service was shocking. The cleanliness problems were everywhere. The new bedding housekeeping brought after we waited an hour appeared to have dried sick and diarrhea on it. Before that, the main bedroom's fitted sheet was dirty and covered in long black hairs, and the mattress protector underneath was filthy too. The sofa bed had a used fitted sheet and no bedding. Carpets throughout were stained and hairy. In the kitchen, the cutlery was filthy, there was a used beer cap in a drawer, and the vile saucepans and cupboard looked like they had never been cleaned. There was mold near the bathroom window and long black hairs around the tap. We walked in to find a broken mirror, and things only got worse. The living room was disappointing, with just three chairs for four guests, and both the chairs and table were wobbly. OYO doesn't deserve anyone's business.

We stayed for a week with two adults and children aged 2 and 6. The place was quiet on arrival and all the rooms were clean. It has one bedroom with a double divan bed, plus a lounge diner with a sofa bed that wasn't comfortable. It's on good public transport routes. A broom would help with keeping the place clean, and there should be two bins, one for general waste and one for recycling, instead of just the single bin.

I've been booking Room and Roof for two months while my employees have been working in Southampton. Booking is easy, and someone is always available by phone. The apartments have been ideal for the guys to relax in after a long workday. Highly rated.
