The room was tidy and nicely presented, with really comfortable beds. They’d left clean towels and toiletries too. This was a last-minute booking, but the gentleman was very accommodating and suggested places to eat nearby. Parking was a bit of a hassle, the only downside. I’d definitely recommend it.

I had twin room 7, which was clean and had a comfortable bed, a big wash basin and tea-making facilities. The shared shower and toilet on the landing were clean too. There wasn’t breakfast on offer, but Albert Road has Weatherspoons and plenty of pubs with inexpensive breakfasts, so that was fine 😊

Every room had a floor fan, which came in handy in summer, and the bedside setup was thoughtful: USB chargers, good reading lights, and drinks like tea, coffee, hot chocolate and mint chocolates. Mike, a retired air force pilot, greeted me and introduced me to the guest house. It’s a nice, cosy place and the hospitality is top notch.

The guest house was clean, with towels, toiletries and the usual hospitality tray, but the shared facilities were too limited. There are only two toilets and two showers across three floors, and not even one toilet per landing. We knew the facilities were shared, just didn’t expect so few. Parking was poor as well. I wouldn’t recommend it.

The highlight was the breakfast, there was more than I could have asked for. I stayed for the weekend and enjoyed it a lot. The host was really nice, and I didn’t mind sharing the shower. I’d recommend this B&B to anyone spending a weekend or a couple of days in portsmouth, and I can’t wait to stay again.
